The Torah is the ancient Teaching of Mankind. It even preceded "this world" by two thousand years.
Adam and Eve time is when we start counting the history of "this world".
The chain of transmission of the Torah is : Adam, Seth, Enosh ….
"Ten generations from Adam till Noah, and ten more generations from Noah to Abraham."
Still, there were always righteous people who worshipped Hashem like Hanoch, Noah, etc.
The Patriarchs learned Torah from Shem son of Noah and Ever his grandson who had thier Beit Medrash in Jerusalem. MalciZedek king of Shalem/Jerusalem, was Shem son of Noah. He passed on the Priesthood and Kingship to Abraham. The Torah says it.
Jethro and others were amongst the teachers of the old tradition who believed in the unity of Hashem. I personally learned by the Ismaili/Nizari Sufi who claim, like the Druze, that their tradition comes from Jethro. In the end of the course they sent me to the Jews to complete my studies, so, I went to study by the Rebbe in N.Y. and the rest is history.
Since the nations refused to accept the Torah, the project was assigned to Israel.
The Patriarchs kept the whole Torah as it was in their time (!)
Abraham had to figure out a lot for himself, "his kidneys" taught him. Being a prophet of G-d .
The Torah is the teaching of MAN. It is the Queen of all the sciences. All the other sciences are to serve and support the Torah.
The Zohar says that the course of history is hinted in the name ADAM. Adam = A'dam Da'vid M'ashiach. Adam was the first, but he messed up. At the Time of David, King Solomon almost made it. He had the moral and intellectual supremacy over the whole world, but again, the problem with women. The first and most basic problem of mankind is Man Woman relationship. The Garden of Eden is a state of mind.
The Second problem – Kain and Hevel – the operating model for all the wars in the world.
Back to Eden is the reverse process. World peace, then fixing man woman relationship and thus, Back to Eden.
Tora / Israel / God are the one and the same !!! These are different phases of the Law.
Evolution has made us very intelligent, but, we need a law. Other animals do not need it. They manage with their instincts. No other animal can do such terrible mistakes like man can do. Only we can exterminate 100 Millions of our kind in one war like in WWI and in WWII.
The Law is the Torah.
Of course there are distinctions. Men, Women, Children. The Priests, Israel, the Nations. Each category has its own place and role.
Domestication of mankind.
Historically, the time of Adam and Eve is (1) the beginning of urbanization, and (2) order was put to writing.
In the course of evolution we have developed our Super Cortex – a lot of brain on top of all the other older formations.
Only we can make such stupid mistakes.
Only we have this "evil inclination"
Therefor we need the LAW to put us in place.
That is the Torah.
Cats Monkeys and all the other animals do not need the law. They manage with their natural instincts.
And the Law for mankind is the Torah.
